If you had realised, I've started blogging rather constantly at recent. It feels good to unwind my thoughts in my blog, but the main reason for this is 'cos I have nothing much to do during my free time at work. Usage of the net is a little restricted due to the location of my workstation. (My computer faces my Manager's tables, directly.) So let's see how long I keep this blog entertained.
I sent my phone for repair yesterday at the service centre at Bishan. Dharshi, Prita and Becky had accompanied me to get this done.Initially I wanted to get my phone repaired on Saturday since I forgot my warranty card. But Becky was such a sweetheart to get the card for me first from my home since her work ended much earlier. I also met an old irc-mate of mine, Kayyathiri. (GaL^18). We didn't speak though.. Just acknowledged the presence of each other. ;p
I was surprised to find out that they only needed an hour to get the LCD repaired. They didn't need the warranty card 'cos this was a damage caused by 'tension' and I had to pay the price for the repair whether I had the warranty for the phone, or not. I could have saved Becky the hassle if I had known this earlier. The repair cost me $90, by the way. Since I had the paperwork done at about 8pm, they told me to come for collection at 9pm.
After parting with my phone, we headed to Pizza Hut to have our dinner. I felt like a part of me was missing when I didn't feel my phone in my pocket. I have this habit of constantly checking my phone if I have received any smses or calls since the tones aren't that audible. So the absence of my dear phone made me feel a little naked.
We took slightly more then an hour there and by the time we headed back to the Service Centre, they already closed the shutters. It was about 9.20pm. If they close at 9pm, shouldn't they have reminded us to come before that? Becky had to knock the shutters to get their attention. They took about 3mins discussing amongst themselves if they should attend to us and finally someone opened the shutters. Then we showed them the collection slip and said we were there to collect the phone. Then one lady said we had to come back the day after as they had 'already closed the accounts'. We repeated that payment was already made and we just needed to collect the phone back. After another 2 minute discussion, another lady dressed formally walked towards us to get the slip. She's the Manager, I presume. Another 2 minutes discussion amongst themselves and finally they said the magic words, "Please proceed to the counter to collect your phone."
Thank the good lord, my phone has recovered now. I am going to be so very careful with my phone from now on.
